About Us


Here at, we are passionate about all things retail. We have been in the business for over 25 years, being established in 1985 by our Managing Directors, Alan & Marjorie Lewis and operate from our retail showroom, warehouse and office complex in Belfast.

We are always looking out for new products to add to our already lengthy stock list that will make the retail experience for your customers stand out from the crowd. To ensure we do the same for you, our service starts before your order is made and continues even after you have received it with a sales and support team that have the knowledge to help you choose the products you need.

As I mentioned before, we were established in 1985 by our managing directors, Alan & Marjorie Lewis. Previously, Alan had worked in the canned food business as a salesman before joining a local shop fitting & display company in Belfast where he worked for 5 years.

The company started out by selling stock from a van throughout Northern Ireland. Stock was initially stored at their home and as the business grew it started to take over the house. For this reason the company moved to its first commercial premises and shortly afterwards invested in a 1600sq ft showroom premises on the Albertbridge Road in Belfast. During this time the business sold product and installed metal shop fitting systems.

As Alan Lewis Displays continued to grow, the business started to run out of space again and forced the company to move to a 4100 sq ft premises in 1990. Almost immediately they had to rent additional storage to cope with the growing stockholding.

Julian Lewis joined the company in 1995 and started to develop multi channel sales such as the internet and direct mail. At first the internet was used purely as a marketing tool however in 2000, as e-commerce was growing in strength, Equipashop was launched and retail equipment could be purchased online.

In 2002 the company acquired a local joinery company which produced high quality shop fitting work including bespoke joinery such as counters and display units. Having this new capability meant that Alan Lewis Displays could now offer customers a complete retail solution from product supply through to fit out. Additionally the company could provide solutions to new market sectors including restaurants, offices & bespoke joinery projects.

In 2005 it was decided that new premises were needed as the company was operating out of 6 different locations and in April 2006 the company purchased a 20,000 sq ft premises at Prince Regent Road in Belfast. This included showroom, stores and workshop areas all under the one roof which helped to streamline the whole operation of everyday business.

The Company now employs 20 people and has rebranded to ALD. It operates two divisions, product supply ( and a fit out division (ALD Fitout).

Over the years we have built up a reputation amongst our existing customers and further afield for our quality, service and prices, something we are proud off and continue to maintain and improve on.

We will continue to uphold our strong reputation for quality, service and price by monitoring the market and working closely with our suppliers to find the products you want at the best prices. We will offer a service that not only provides you with the products you need, but also with the industry knowledge that will help your business move forward.

Our 25,000sq ft warehouse allows us to hold a large amount of stock. This means that you get the products you want delivered to you quickly. As a result most of the orders placed with us before 1pm will leave us on the same day! Some items (Slatwall Panels, Shelves etc) may require some specialist attention form our guys in the workshop (see below for more info), so these items can take a bit longer to get to you (normally dispatched within 5 days of your order), but it will be worth it in the end.

We have a team of 5 that work our warehouse to pick, pack and dispatch your order.

Henry has been with us for over 10 years and is the go to man when it comes to finding a product you are looking for. 

Richard joined in 2009 and is always willing to help out. His product knowledge will help you find the right item whether it is a screw or a shop system you are looking for.

Our showroom will soon be undergoing a revamp and redesign so we will share the pictures of it here as soon as it’s completed.

2.    To sell our products at the lowest prices

We buy as much stock as we can to achieve the lowest prices. In addition Equipashop wants to ensure that their customers get exactly what they are looking for and are not forced to bulk buy. We offer no minimum orders and savings on even the latest products but so sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with the latest offers!

3.    To always dispatch goods fast; usually the same day you order them

Our whole operation is designed to get your order out the door and on its way to you as quickly as possible. We aim to dispatch every in-stock order placed before 1pm that day (Mon-Fri). We then hand your parcel over to our network of reputable couriers to bring it to your door. Delivery is FREE in the UK and Ireland for orders over £85 ex VAT with no minimum orders.

4.    To provide great customer service

If you need some help with anything you can rely on our team to point you in the right direction. Our team is highly experienced with experts on retail equipment and shop fitting. We make life simple whether it’s a late delivery or you want to have your order exchanged or refunded.

5.    To provide worldwide service

We provide worldwide shipping so whether you’re just down the road from us or on the other side of the world we endeavour to deliver your products to the highest standard in the shortest time. We offer reasonable international delivery rates and there is no minimum order value so even small orders are accepted.

In 2004 we acquired a local Fit Out business. This has helped our business to naturally progress from a product supply business into a complete source for retail solutions. The team run the workshop in our warehouse facility and are called upon to help complete your orders such as shelving, slatwall panels etc.
